Description
This Malbec has elegant and pronounced varietal characters. The wine shows distinct plum aromas, with cherry, rosemary and chocolate notes. With sweet fruit and firm tannins, the wine has cassis, vanilla and spiced, dark berry fruit on the palate, with a long finish.

The story of our wines begins in a remote and unexplored part of northern Argentina in the late nineteenth century. Along with thousands of European immigrants exploring the new continent, one specific family came to make history. French brothers David and Salvador Michel, and David’s Italian wife, Gabriela Torino, arrived in the province of Salta in the second half of the 19th century.Adventurous, free spirited and passionate, they are considered among the pioneers to have planted wines in the Calchaqued Valley. In 1892, they founded “Michel Torino Hermanos”. Because of its high altitude, this was not a valley expected to grow grapes. And yet its potential, as they quickly discovered, was huge. An oasis in the middle of the desert, lying 1700 meters above sea-level!When David and Gabriela passed away, they left their children to develop the new vineyard. They planted the first Torronte9s grapes in the valley – today a wine-lovers favorite – and also acquired more hectares in 1925. Their talent and knowhow has never left the vineyard. Michel Torino is still a family wine – but it has accomplished international fame.It was the first Argentinian wine to be exported in the world. Some may ask, “What is the secret of this family?” Our answer is always that French-Italian expertise, together with the extraordinary potential of the valley, make for a successful enterprise.So, we wish that while enjoying our wine, you remember this story.
