This whiskey is distilled in Kentucky and bottled in Austin, Texas where it is blended with “limestone filtered water from the Texas Hill Country”. Aged in charred American oak barrels. It was introduced to the market by Austin Spirits just in time for Austin City Limits festival in 2014.
Its name derives from the nine-banded armadillo, Texas’s official state small mammal, as well as a shout out to the Armadillo World Headquarters, a beloved, but defunct music venue in Austin.
