Brand Description
Founded in 1836 by Alexandre-Louis Pommery, Madame Pommery took over as head of Pommery after the death of her husband in 1858. She based the expansion of the House on the creation of wines unlike any others, with one constant demand: quality pushed to the extreme. Well aware of how important the origin of grapes was to the quality of the Pommery wines, over the years she built a collection of the finest vineyards in all of Champagne. Champagne Pommery produces cuvées from meticulous vineyard selection with a unique history of balancing tradition and modernity. Led by Madame Pommery, a talented and visionary woman, Champagne Pommery is known as the Maison that created the first dry Champagne in 1874 (known today as the Brut style). Today, 92% of champagnes are made in the Brut style Madame Pommery created. Clément Pierlot is only the 10th Chef des Caves since 1836. As an engineer in agriculture and enologist, Clément is devoted to organic viticulture and is leading the conversion of all Pommery vineyards. Since 1836, Champagne Pommery produces a wide range of Champagnes: the regular Brut Royal (non-vintage, the flagship of the house, expressing the Pommery’s style), Apanage champagnes (non vintage, dedicated to fine dining), POP Extra-Dry splits (personal-sized bottles of 187 ml, standing for Product Of Pommery, great for any gathering with friends and family) and Cuvée Louise (masterpiece vintage champagne, produced from 3 Grands Crus and on exceptional harvest years only).
