Svöl Aquavit will take you on a journey through the varied regional traditions of Scandinavia’s beloved spirit. The Svöl range pays homage to aquavit’s centuries of history. We partnered with experts in Scandinavian food and drink to create the nest examples of aquavit made in the regional styles of Denmark and Sweden. The botanicals were selected and sourced by chef Gunnar Gíslason, owner of Michelin-starred Dill Restaurant in Reykjavik, and Jonas Andersen, Beverage Manager for MeyersUSA. The distillation and botanical extraction techniques were developed in partnership with Allen Katz at New York Distilling Co.in Brooklyn, NY, where Svöl is made.
Danish aquavits are made from un-aged, grain-based spirit and are typically a more caraway-forward style of aquavit. Our Danish-Style aquavit has a base of rye, corn and barley and features the finest caraway from Finland as its lead flavor. The caraway is rounded out by several other botanicals from around the world including Icelandic angelica root and birch bark. It is a subtly spicy yet balanced spirit that’s perfect in savory cocktail experiments.
